Khaplu Fort

Khaplu Palace , domestically referred to as Yabgo Khar(which means “The citadel on the roof”), is an antique castle and palace positioned in Khaplu, within the Gilgit-Baltistan vicinity of northern Pakistan. The palace, taken into consideration an architectural history and a tourist appeal,was constructed inside the mid-19th century, replacing an earlier fort located close by. It served as a royal residence for the Raja of Khaplu.

From 2005 to 2011 the palace, having earlier stood in inclined conditions, underwent a recovery assignment done by way of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture underneath the Aga Khan Historic Cities Programme. The palace now houses a hotel operated by means of Serena and a museum depicting the history and way of life of Baltistan.
